张慧博士是IEEE高级会员,获香港大学计算机科学系博士学位,浙江大学计算机科学与工程学士和工程硕士学位。张慧在计算机视觉和模式识别领域的顶级期刊《IEEE模式分析与机器智能学报》(Transaction on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence)、《IEEE 图像处理学报》(Transaction on Image Processing)和顶级会议IEEE计算机视觉和模式识别会议(Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition) 、IEEE图像处理国际会议(International Conference on Image Processing)、ACM多媒体会议(ACM Multimedia) 、英国机器视觉会议(British Machine Vision Conference)、亚洲计算机视觉会议(Asia Conference on Computer Vision)等著名国际国内期刊和会议上发表论文40余篇,其中SCI/EI 检索20余篇,参与编写教科书1本,拥有专利1项。主持和参与研究项目10余项(包括3项国家自然科学基金),完成6项。
