学制及修读期限

Study Mode & Study Period

Normally, part-time programmes are designed to be completed in two years (24 calendar months) while full-time programmes are to be completed in one year unless otherwise specified. With special permission individual students may extend the programme of study for a period of not more than 12 months.

  • Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAcc)

Full-time Mode (to be completed in 1 year)

  • Master of Arts (MA) in Communication

The normal duration of the programme is one year full-time (two semesters).


学费及奖学金

Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAcc)

The proposed tuition fee for full-time mode (one year of three trimesters) for the academic years 2018/19 is RMB 130,000 per annum. The tuition fee will be reviewed each year to reflect inflationary increase in operational and staffing costs.

The part-time mode of study will start in 2020/21 and the tuition fee will be set with reference to the tuition fee charged for full-time mode.

The above tuition fees do not include any additional expenses such as student hostel fee and overseas field trip expenses, if any.

Master of Arts (MA) in Communication

The College’s tuition fee for the 2018-19 academic year is RMB 80,000 per annum.

Q 1. What are the differences between research postgraduate programmes and taught postgraduate programmes?

Taught postgraduate programmes focus mainly on coursework. Taught postgraduate students enrolled in the College are required to register for courses in accordance with the study schedule of their programmes in every term, they should complete the appropriate procedures in person according to the official dates announced.

Research postgraduate programmes include Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programmes, which focus mainly on research work. Students are required to take coursework, complete an approved programme of supervised research, present the research undertakings and findings and pass an oral examination on the written thesis.

Q 2. Do I need to take the Graduate Candidate Test of Mainland China?

No. Qualified students are expected to submit an application to the UIC Graduate School in the way described here:

Q 3. Is the awarded degree certificate authenticated by China's Ministry of Education?

Yes. UIC Research Postgraduate Programmes were authorized by China's Ministry of Education, accordingly, the awarded degree certificate is recognized by the Ministry.


录取条件

Admission to taught postgraduate degree programmes is subject to satisfying the admission requirements of the respective programmes.

  • Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAcc)

Academic Qualification

  • Holders of a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized tertiary institution; or

  • Holders of a qualification deemed to be equivalent.

Selection will be judged on the basis of official academic transcripts and supporting documents. Interviews may be arranged to further assess the applicants’ qualifications.

Language Proficiency Requirement

Proof of English proficiency is required for all applicants whose bachelor’s degrees were obtained from non-English medium institutions. These applicants must meet the following minimum requirements for English proficiency:

  • a score of 550 (paper-based) or 79 (internet-based test) in TOEFL; or

  • an overall band score of 6.5 in IELTS.

Notes for Applicants

  • Applicants bear the responsibility to confirm with HKICPA that their bachelor’s degrees are recognised in meeting the student registration requirements of the HKICPA QP before applying for admission to the MPAcc programme.

  • Applicants expecting the acquisition of the requisite academic qualification before the programme commencement may also apply for admission.

  • Both business and non-business degree holders must satisfy the pre-core programme requirements prior to their completion of the MAcc programme. The pre-core programme includes courses in accounting, economics, information systems, management and statistics. Applicants with deficiencies in any of these courses must take, at their extra cost, the prescribed pre-core courses (which are non-unit bearing courses with pass/fail option) to satisfy the competency requirements for admission to the HKICPA QP. The offering of pre-core courses by the Department is subject to the demand of admissions.

  • Master of Arts (MA) in Communication

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or institution; AND be able to communicate in English at an advanced level, possessing one or more of the following qualifications if they did not study in an English-speaking institution:

  • A minimum score of 79 in TOEFL

  • A minimum score of 6.5 in IELTS

Master of Arts (MA) in Communication

The programme requires students to complete 27 units of coursework, which include 12 units of Core Courses and 15 units of Elective Courses.

  1. Core Courses

Students are required to complete 12 units of Core Courses in the first semester of study. Each course carries 3 units. The Core Courses are listed as follows:
